The Fine Print
You are reading Jewelry Fix Pro. We take our craft seriously. We analyze prong settings, test casting methods, and call out bad manufacturing. We built this site to cut through the noise of generic jewelry advice. But we need to set some strict boundaries regarding how you use our information.
We Are Not Your Appraiser
We know our way around a jeweler’s bench. We understand the difference between a cold joint and a clean solder. We can spot a poorly cut pavilion from across the room. But we cannot appraise your specific piece through a computer screen.
The guides, teardowns, and repair tutorials on this site are strictly for educational purposes. They are not a substitute for an in-person evaluation by a certified gemologist or master jeweler.
Watching a tutorial on retipping prongs does not make you a diamond setter. We share our bench techniques so you understand the process. We do not share them so you can practice on a priceless family heirloom.
If you need an insurance appraisal for a diamond ring. If you need a verified XRF metal analysis on an estate sale find. If you need a structural integrity check on a vintage platinum setting. Take it to a local professional.
Never base financial decisions on a blog post.
The Reality of Changing Information
We publish what we observe at the bench. We document our tests. We share our findings.
But the jewelry industry moves fast. Metal markets shift daily. A brand we praised for excellent quality control last season might switch factories and drop their standards tomorrow. A specific flux or polishing compound we recommend might change its chemical formula without warning.
We update our archives when we catch these shifts. We still miss things. Always verify specifications with the manufacturer before dropping cash on a new tool or a piece of fine jewelry. You are responsible for your own due diligence.
How We Keep the Lights On
Running a site with forensic precision takes time. It takes money. We buy loupes, calipers, and ultrasonic cleaners just to test them and find their breaking points.
Sometimes we use affiliate links. If you click a link to a tool supplier or a jewelry brand and make a purchase, we earn a small commission. This costs you nothing extra.
Here is our hard rule. We never recommend a product we have not vetted. If a cheap casting machine fails after three uses, we say so. If a luxury brand uses hollow gold and charges a premium, we call it out.
We reject sponsorships that require positive coverage. We turned down three tool manufacturers last quarter because their products felt cheap in the hand. No commission check is worth our reputation.
External Links and Blind Spots
We link out to external resources frequently. We point you toward metal refiners, gemological labs, and equipment suppliers. We do this to give you high-resolution context for our articles.
We do not control those external websites. We do not monitor their privacy policies or track their changing terms of service. Once you click away from Jewelry Fix Pro, you are operating in their territory. Navigate accordingly.
If you find a broken link or a recommended supplier that has dropped in quality, let us know. We want to hear about it.
